Tesla YouTube FAQ.
Everything you might want to know before you try teslada.sh. If something's missing, email us and we'll add it.
The basics
Does YouTube actually work on a Tesla?
Yes. teslada.sh is a website you open in your Tesla's built-in browser. Pick a video, press play — it streams in HD, right on the touchscreen.
Do I need to install anything on my Tesla?
No. teslada.sh is a website, not an app. Open your Tesla's built-in browser, go to teslada.sh, sign in — you're watching. Nothing is installed on the vehicle, and nothing affects your Tesla software.
What quality does it stream at?
Up to 1080p HD, with synchronized audio through your Tesla's cabin speakers. We use adaptive streaming behind the scenes to pick the best quality for your connection in real time.
Do I need a YouTube Premium account?
No. teslada.sh works with any YouTube content that's publicly accessible. No YouTube account, no Google sign-in, no Premium subscription required. All you need is a teslada.sh account.
Compatibility
Which Tesla models are supported?
Tesla Model 3 (2018+), Model Y (all years), Model S (2021 refresh and newer recommended), Model X (2021 refresh and newer recommended), Model 3 Highland, Model Y Juniper, and Cybertruck. Any Tesla that ships with the in-car web browser works.
Does it work on the Model 3 Highland refresh?
Yes. The 2024 Model 3 Highland uses MCU3 and the same in-car browser. teslada.sh works identically on pre- and post-refresh Model 3s.
Does it work on the 2025 Model Y Juniper?
Yes. Juniper ships with MCU3 and the same browser stack. teslada.sh is optimized for it out of the box.
Does it work on pre-2021 Model S and Model X?
Yes, it runs — but layout and performance are optimized for the 2021-refresh horizontal touchscreen. Pre-refresh vehicles with portrait screens will work but the UI is tuned for the newer hardware.
Does it work on Cybertruck?
Yes. Cybertruck runs MCU3 and Tesla's browser. teslada.sh works the same way as on any other Tesla.
Do I need MCU2 or MCU3?
Either works. MCU3 is noticeably snappier, but MCU2 handles everything teslada.sh does just fine.
Do I need Premium Connectivity?
You need a working internet connection. That means either Tesla's LTE Premium Connectivity or tethering to your car's Wi-Fi from home or a hotspot. Standard Connectivity without Wi-Fi is not fast enough for HD video.
Pricing & signup
How much does it cost?
$3.99/month or $39.99/year (about $3.33/month — a 17% discount). Every new account starts with a 3-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial.
What happens after the free trial?
If you haven't picked a plan, the trial simply ends and you lose access to streaming. We don't auto-charge you after the trial — you'll only pay if you choose a plan yourself.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel from your account page in two taps. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, then stops. No cancellation fees, no negotiation.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — if something's broken on our end, email us and we'll refund unused time. We don't do refunds for change of mind, since cancellation is instant and trials are free.
Safety & policy
Is there an acceptable use policy?
Yes. teslada.sh is intended for passengers or stationary viewing only. Please only use it while the vehicle is safely parked. The driver is responsible for safe operation of the vehicle at all times. See our Terms for details.
Is this an official Tesla or YouTube product?
No. teslada.sh is an independent browser enhancement. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Tesla, Inc., YouTube, LLC, Google LLC, or any of their subsidiaries.
Will using this void my Tesla warranty?
No. teslada.sh is a website viewed through your Tesla's browser. It does not install anything on the car, modify Tesla software, or interact with the vehicle's hardware. Browsing the web is a normal Tesla feature.
How do you handle my data?
We collect what's needed to run your account — email, password hash, Stripe customer ID, subscription status. We don't run ad-tracking pixels, we don't sell data, and we don't store your viewing history. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
Troubleshooting
Why is playback stuttering?
Usually a connectivity issue. Check Tesla LTE signal strength or, if on Wi-Fi, check that the signal reaches your parking spot. The player adapts quality automatically, but a weak connection will downshift it.
A video won't load — what do I do?
Some YouTube videos have geographic or rights restrictions. If one specific video fails, try another. If everything fails, the stream proxy may be temporarily down — check teslada.sh/health for status.
How do I sign in on my Tesla if my password is on my phone?
If you use a password manager, the easiest approach is to send yourself the password via note or email, then open that note in the Tesla browser. After first login, the session stays signed in.
