FAQ

Common questions.

Does YouTube actually work on a Tesla?

Yes. teslada.sh is a website you open in your Tesla's built-in browser. Pick a video, press play — it streams in HD, right on the touchscreen.

Do I need to install anything on my Tesla?

No. teslada.sh is a website, not an app. Open your Tesla's built-in browser, go to teslada.sh, sign in — you're watching. Nothing is installed on the vehicle, and nothing affects your Tesla software.

What quality does it stream at?

Up to 1080p HD, with synchronized audio through your Tesla's cabin speakers. We use adaptive streaming behind the scenes to pick the best quality for your connection in real time.

Do I need a YouTube Premium account?

No. teslada.sh works with any YouTube content that's publicly accessible. No YouTube account, no Google sign-in, no Premium subscription required. All you need is a teslada.sh account.

Which Tesla models are supported?

Tesla Model 3 (2018+), Model Y (all years), Model S (2021 refresh and newer recommended), Model X (2021 refresh and newer recommended), Model 3 Highland, Model Y Juniper, and Cybertruck. Any Tesla that ships with the in-car web browser works.

Do I need Premium Connectivity?

You need a working internet connection. That means either Tesla's LTE Premium Connectivity or tethering to your car's Wi-Fi from home or a hotspot. Standard Connectivity without Wi-Fi is not fast enough for HD video.

How much does it cost?

$3.99/month or $39.99/year (about $3.33/month — a 17% discount). Every new account starts with a 3-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial.

Is this an official Tesla or YouTube product?

No. teslada.sh is an independent browser enhancement. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Tesla, Inc., YouTube, LLC, Google LLC, or any of their subsidiaries.
